Fig’s Fun Friday–Spider-Man Yoga Time!
As I mentioned last Friday, Spider-Man suffered a career ending injury (well, the end of his yoga displaying career, at least). He has a severely dislocated elbow. It’s quite horrific–I can’t bear to even share a photo of it here. So I did a star search (err…rifled through the toy box upstairs) and found a second Spider-Man to take the job. So without further ado, I give you Spider Man 2.0:
Here we can see Spider-Man 2.0 demonstrating a Wide-Angled Forward Bend (Upavistha Konasana). You can also see that the table I just cleaned doesn’t look fully clean–I hate what a flash exposes. And dude, he’s got some serious cankles going on.
And here he shows us a simple Bridge Pose (Setu Bandha Sarvangasana–wow, quite a mouthful–I’ll stick with Bridge Pose).
And finally, to round out his debut, Spidey II attempts (not entirely successfully) a Supported Headstand (Salamba Sirsasana) but I don’t know what he was doing with his arms there. It looks downright painful. If he keeps this up he’s going to go the same way as Spider-Man 1.0. I’ll try to correct his form next time. In the mean time, check the links if you’d like to see lovely Yoga Journal demonstrations instead.

Love Spidey yoga
I’m glad there were problems finding new talent.
He’s way too talented, even if he lacks perfect form! If I tried the Wide-Angled forward bend at that level I would pull a muscle! I guess I need these tips more than most.
